Jabhet Tahrir Syria mediate an exchange deal between Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham and Jaysh al-Islam amid clashes renewal in west Aleppo

On Monday, Jabhet Tahrir Syria JTS announced it mediated a prisoners exchange deal between Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham HTS and Jaysh al-Islam after “HTS” left Eastern Ghouta toward North Syria with Jaysh al-Islam captured fighters.

JTS said that a deal between Jaysh al-Islam and HTS in Eastern Ghouta to exchange captured fighters under the sponsor of Jabhet Tahrir Syria before the roads connecting towns and cities in Eastern Ghouta were cut which prevented the complete of the deal.

JTS statement said that captured Jaysh al-Islam left with HTS when the evacuation deal started in Eastern Ghouta among the last convoy that left the Central Sector, the deal was completed today in Qalaat al-Madiq and the HTS captured fighters who were with Jaysh al-Islam were released.

Jabhet Tahrir Syria didn’t mention the details of this agreement amid the ongoing infighting for 50 days with Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham in north Syria and it didn’t mention the numbers of released prisoners from both sides.

Meanwhile, clashes between Hayyet Tahrir al-Sham and Jabhet Tahrir Syria renewed in Aleppo western countryside, JTS announced it damaged a tank and destroyed an HTS pick-up truck in Rihab village in addition to destroying BMB vehicles while withdrawing from nearby Makalbis village.

HTS tried to advance toward Daaret Izza city and Makalbis village west Aleppo amid exchanged shelling between both sides but JTS retook many points captured by HTS recently.

These clashes come after both sides reached a ceasefire deal yesterday from 6 pm on Sunday but the deal didn’t last long after HTS stopped JTS vehicles were heading to complete the negotiations with the commander of Faylaq al-Sham who mediate the deal.

Tahrir Syria issued a statement to what it said “clarification of the incident of stopping its negotiators and Soqur al-Sham negotiators on HTS checkpoint after reaching a ceasefire deal.

JTS said in the statement that they agreed for a ceasefire with HTS throughout middlemen starts on 6 pm on Sunday but HTS checkpoint stopped the car of negotiators while heading to the place accepted by both sides to negotiate.

JTS added that it took security measures and send the two convoys on different routes but when HTS checkpoint stopped the negotiators who were with Faylaq al-Sham commander called Abu Subhi the other car which was carrying JTS chief commander went back to a safe area according to the statement.

Clashes between both sides have been ongoing since last February, causing casualties and injuries among both sides and civilians in addition to cutting roads in Aleppo western countryside and Idlib amid efforts from different groups to end the infighting in addition to protests calling groups to stop the infighting and head to frontlines with the regime or protect the towns and villages from these clashes.
