On Wednesday, ISIS captured Sawab and Akkash oil field west Boukmal in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside after clashes with Assad regime forces.
Local activists said that at least 11 Assad regime soldiers were killed and dozens injured after ISIS captured the oil field and the village.
ISIS has been recently focusing attacks on strategic areas and oil fields. Earlier this month ISIS was able to capture Ratqa oil field after capturing 7 regime fighters.
Meanwhile, ISIS captured Saijan oil field north al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside after SDF withdrew its fighters from the area without knowing the reasons behind this withdrawal, a similar attack on al-Azraq oil well under SDF control in Deir Ezzor eastern northern countryside caused the death and injury of several SDF fighters.
ISIS enclave in Deir Ezzor now located from al-Bahra village to the Syrian-Iraqi border, activists cited pro-ISIS sources is the reason of the latest fierce attacks by ISIS is because they ambushed an Assad regime convoy in Um al-Salabikh near T2 station and captured 16 trucks loaded with weapons and ammunition in late March.
